2. What information we collect

Information you give us directly

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number, postal address.

• Booking and intake information: due date/birth date, pregnancy and birth history, medical and mental health information you choose to share, previous birth trauma, support network, and other details relevant to your care (special category health data).

• Payment information processed via our payment providers (we do not store full card details ourselves).

• Correspondence: messages sent via contact forms, email, Instagram, or Acuity Scheduling.

• Content you submit: testimonials, reviews, public comments.

• Purchase details for digital and physical products bought via our website, Stan Store, or Etsy.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data via cookies and similar technologies: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referral source. See our Cookie Policy for full detail.

• Analytics data about how visitors use the site, via Google Analytics and Squarespace's built-in analytics.

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

• To provide doula, hypnobirthing, yoga, somatic, and reiki services you have booked — legal basis: performance of a contract, and explicit consent for special category health data (Article 9(2)(a) UK GDPR).

• To process orders for products — legal basis: performance of a contract.

• To respond to enquiries and provide customer support — legal basis: legitimate interests / pre-contractual steps.

• To send marketing emails or Instagram updates, only where you have opted in — legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

• To run and improve the website (analytics, security) — legal basis: legitimate interests, or consent where cookies require it.

• To meet legal and accounting obligations (e.g. invoicing, tax records) — legal basis: legal obligation.

Special category data (health, pregnancy, and birth-related information) is only collected with your explicit, freely given consent, and only where necessary to provide safe, informed care. You may decline to share any information, though this may limit the support we can offer.

4. How we collect your information

• Directly from you: enquiry and contact forms, Acuity Scheduling intake forms, email, Instagram messages, and in-person or video consultations.

• Automatically: via cookies when you browse the site (see Cookie Policy).

• From third parties: our payment processor confirms successful payment; Stan Store and Etsy share order confirmations for products purchased on those platforms.

5. How we use your information

• To plan and deliver your birth or postnatal support, classes, or sessions.

• To process and fulfil product orders, including shipping physical items and granting access to digital downloads.

• To communicate with you about bookings, appointments, or orders.

• To send marketing communications you've opted into, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

• To maintain accurate business and financial records.

• To improve our services and website content.

6. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only where necessary, with:

• Squarespace – our website host and e-commerce platform.

• Acuity Scheduling – for appointment booking and intake forms.

• Payment processors (e.g. Stripe, PayPal, or Squarespace Payments) – to process transactions.

• Stan Store and Etsy – where you purchase digital or physical products through those platforms directly, in which case their own privacy policies also apply.

• Email/marketing platforms – if you subscribe to our mailing list.

• Google Analytics and Meta (Instagram/Facebook), where you have consented to analytics or marketing cookies.

• Professional collaborators (e.g. a backup doula) where necessary for continuity of your care, and only with your knowledge.

• Regulatory or legal authorities, where required by law.

Each of these third parties is contractually or legally obliged to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

7. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (for example, Squarespace, Google, and Meta) may store or process data outside the UK and European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK GDPR, such as the UK's data protection adequacy regulations or Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data remains protected to UK standards.

8. How long we keep your information

• Client care records (health/birth information): retained for as long as reasonably necessary for continuity of care and to meet professional insurance and safeguarding obligations, then securely deleted or anonymised.

• Financial and invoicing records: retained for 6 years to meet HMRC requirements.

• Marketing contact details: retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.

• Website analytics data: retained per the periods set out in our Cookie Policy.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.

• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

• Request erasure of your data, where applicable.

• Restrict or object to certain processing.

• Request your data in a portable format.

• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [withparis.x@gmail.com]. We will respond within one month.

10. Cookies

Our site uses cookies to function properly, understand how it's used, and, where you consent, to support marketing. Full details — including a list of every cookie, its purpose, duration, and legal basis — are set out in our separate Cookie Policy, which you can manage your preferences through at any time via the cookie banner on our site.

11. Children

Our services and content are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including relying on Squarespace's and our other providers' security infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

13. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated. Continued use of our site or services after changes take effect means you accept the revised notice.
